Jenna Lowe was an extraordinary young girl who made a massive impact on the landscape of a rare and cruel lung disease called Pulmonary Hypertension. She got South Africa to wake up and start talking about organ donation with her effective, award-winning campaign Get Me To 21. Her impact became global and her legacy continues to grow.
One of the blessings in Jenna’s life was her incredibly close and loving relationship with her sister Kristi. Kristi is bright, fun-loving, empathetic, strong, capable and an incredibly talented young singer.
It came as a terrible shock for Kristi when Jenna was diagnosed. She spent many months (in fact, years) supporting her, doing things for Jen that Jen couldn’t do herself, and sacrificing a normal teenage life to spend as much time as she could with her soulmate. Having witnessed her older sister go through months of diagnostic tests, innumerable hospital visits, and the need for expensive medications, Kristi opted to use the gift of her voice to raise funds for Jenna.
Together they wrote the song ‘I Need More Time’. Kim Kallie became a mentor for Kristi, giving her voice training and guidance throughout the recording. Jenna wrote the lyrics from her heart and together they joined forces with well-known local South African band Goodluck to produce the song. It was launched by popular Cape Town radio station KFM and internationally on iTunes in 2013.
Although new to the stage and the world of music, 15-year-old Kristi showed maturity beyond her years. With her soulful and powerful voice and an extremely calm performing temperament, she performed their song live for the first time at The Table of Peace and Unity on top of Table Mountain, and was one of the youngest ever performers to sing before an audience of 30 000 at the Newlands Rugby Stadium at a Bulls/Stormers final.
'I Need More time', which launched on KFM
in June 2012, went to number 3 on the iTunes ZA Pop Chart in just one
day!
Since then Kristi has gone on to release a number of original tracks.
Her most recent single, 'Girl Crush' is
now available on all digital platforms.
This is the fourth release from this exciting new artist, with many more
to come! It follows on from her hugely successful single
‘I Need More Time’, as well as
‘Take Me Away’ (2020) a poignant ballad
about the loss of her sister and
‘Not Here To Please You’ (2021) an upbeat
pop single with a powerful social message.

We appreciate any and all efforts made to furthering Jenna’s Legacy and supporting our cause in any way that suits you best.
Less than 0.3% of South Africans are registered organ donors, despite SA being the ‘home’ of the heart
transplant. This shocking statistic (we need hundreds of thousands more donors) means at least 4,300 people
await a life-saving organ transplant on any given day.
It is quick, easy and costs nothing to register as a donor. Your organs could save up to seven lives when
you die.
